something a bit different from usual?

part of an assignment for English class. pieces of art for the novel, The Chrysalids by John Wyndham. if you haven't read this book, READ IT. ( :

i don't know if people would understand this picture if they haven't read the book.

i'm too lazy to explain it properly, so here's what it is, vaguely:

BASICALLY, according to the "normal" people, "Blasphemies" (deformed humans) are "sent by the Devil" and do not have souls, and therefore are not human.

but they aare normal people, and their deformities are actually caused by radiation (they don't know this, but the reader can figure it out)

and i'm trying to show that the deformities don't affect the person they are inside, and the prejudice and everything of the "normal" people make them the real mutants.

yes. that's it.
